Riddle: The Eighth Rabbit
I’m sitting in the grass, ears up,
There’s a whole string around me.
The first jumps, the second gnaws,
The third is given the carrot.
The fourth in the hole squats quietly,
The fifth and sixth are as they glue.
The seventh man is in the field,
His ears are already hurting from the wind.
I look at them, my eyes
I’m in this strange dream.
“I see eight rabbits,” I say confidently,
Even if seven only moves with a slight willingness.
Who is the eighth one who doesn’t move an inch?
! The eighth rabbit is you (the reader) or the one who is painted last in the picture! In these puzzles, the “eighth rabbit” is often the observer himself, or he is hidden in the text (the word “rabbit”), or it is an optical illusion where the last figure is composed from the surrounding landscape (clouds or stones)! <
