Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare a large sheet pan by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples into even pieces for consistent baking.
  3. Combine apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, lemon juice, butter, and vanilla extract. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  4. Roll out the pie crust dough and place it into the prepared sheet pan, pressing it gently into the edges.
  5. Spread the seasoned apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  6. Add the top crust or decorative pastry layer over the apples and seal the edges.
  7. Bake until the crust is golden brown and the apple filling is tender and thickened.
  8. Allow the Sheet Pan Apple Pie to cool before adding glaze and slicing into servings.
  9. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze, then drizzle over the cooled pie before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm baking apples for the best texture and to prevent a watery filling.
  • Slice apples thinly and evenly so they cook at the same rate.
  • Allow the pie to cool before slicing to help the filling set properly.
  • Store leftovers covered at room temperature for short-term storage or refrigerate for longer freshness.
  • The pie can be frozen after baking and reheated when ready to serve.
